Bike Hire

In Townsville, there are companies that will offer bike hire for this event.

Pump ‘n’ Pedals, a third-party provider, are one service provider that are offering this service for the 2024 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Townsville.

Pump ‘n’ Pedals have three types of bikes available to hire:

  • Road bike
  • Mountain bike
  • Time Trial bike

Pump ‘n’ Pedals will be on site at the event, with hired bikes available for pick up from the Pump ‘n’ Pedals tent and servicing area located at Strand Park.

Pump ‘n’ Pedals only allow bikes to be hired for use by one athlete. The cost of hire is $1550AUD / per bike. This cost is partly due to the significant freight cost of shipping bikes over 2500km to Townsville for this event. USM receive a commission for any bikes hired for the event.

It is formulated to replace electrolytes, provide fuel (5% carbohydrates) and hydrate while avoiding stomach upset.

Medical Info

It is strongly advised that you take out personal medical insurance for the duration of your stay, especially for international competitors. Under the Australian Health Act, non-Australians are not covered financially for personal injury. If you do have an accident you must pay for your own medical expenses. Therefore it is essential for you to obtain adequate personal medical insurance.

This event is run under the World Triathlon Race Competition Rules as per Clause
