Course Summary

Run 1 (2.5km)

Run 1 of the Aquathlon will see athletes head south along The Strand for the 1st 2.5km run leg, turning near Gregory St in a clockwise direction, taking in views of Strand Beach and out to Magnetic Island. The Strand is smooth and flat aside from a couple of raised platforms to navigate so we expect some quick times!

Transition

Transition is located on The Strand, in front of Shore Drive Motel.

Swim

Athletes will complete a 1km swim, starting from the Northern end of Strand Beach and runs parallel to Strand Beach from start to finish – making it perfect for spectators to watch! The course is a clockwise P-shape, starting with a 200m swim to the first buoy, then turning right and right again to swim back towards swim exit. Athletes will then turn left to come into swim exit at the north end of Strand Beach to head towards transition.

Run 2 (2.5km)

Two laps of this anticlockwise 1.25km course through Jezzine Barracks means it is perfect for spectators to cheer you on as you complete your race! The 2nd leg does have a pinch of a hill at the start of each lap, so hopefully your running legs are back in full force!
