Course Summary

Run 1 (10km)

Athletes start Run 1 on Howitt Street, heading in a clockwise direction through Jezzine Park, head onto the Esplanade before taking in the stunning views out to Magnetic Island up the Boardwalk of Jezzine Barracks This 2.5km course will be completed four times. 

Transition 

Transition is located in the Parade Grounds of Jezzine Park.

Bike (40km)

This two-lap bike course will be fast – with smooth roads and no elevation. 

Athletes will head out of transition onto The Strand, which provides some technical racing with roundabouts and speed bumps as athletes head south 2km to the turn-around at Tobruk Pool before coming back along the Strand – perfect for spectators to get some great race viewing! 

The open stretch of Cape Pallarenda Road will break up the field as you head towards the turnaround at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park but also treat athletes to Townsville’s stunning coastal views as you head back into the competition venue for the second lap. 

Run 2 (5km)

From transition, athletes will complete two lap of the run course, heading in a clockwise direction through Jezzine Park, head onto the Esplanade before taking in the stunning views out to Magnetic Island up the Boardwalk of Jezzine Barracks then through Jezzine Park down towards the finish line.
